Hello Salvatore Saja. I am greatly amazed that you speak several languages. I am a beginner in studying Italian. It is a bit hard to memorize Italian words. What can I do in enriching my Italian vocabulary?
Hi. ^_^ One of the best ways of learning new words is reading books & watching movies in Italian. ;)
Ciao Salvatore! Posso farti una domanda? Ma è possibile ottenere la certificazione Ditals anche se non si studia o lavora nel campo dell'insegnamento?
Ciao, Valeria. Secondo quanto scritto sul sito ufficiale del DITALS, sì. Neanch'io studio/lavoro nell'ambito delle lingue (insegnamento freelance a parte). Fino a sei mesi fa ero iscritto in Ingegneria Informatica.
Ciao Salvatore, I just realized that I neglected to ask where you live! So...dove ti trovi?
Ciao, Nathan. I'm from Palermo, Sicily. ;) I guess you live in the same city where you teach, Halifax. BTW, I wouldn't use "dove ti trovi?" for this king of question. That expression is more suitable for when you're asking someone where is he/she in that specific moment by telephone, for example. ;)
Ok, I get it, thanks. I am not in Halifax currently, but I am returning there later. I spoke with the director of the language school to offer to take another class or two when I return, but she told me that unfortunately that school (iccans.org) will not be able to employ teachers for their language courses any more. Due to the austerity budgets in Italy, there is little extra for language programs abroad. Our courses and salaries were supported largely by grants from the Italian government but they will not be given this year, and who knows when they may resume. I loved doing it so much so I am trying to think of ways to keep the program going.
I really hope you'll find a way. Unfortunately, our financial crisis is forcing everyone to his knees... and things keep getting worse.
hi
Bounjour Salvatore, I am starting to study Frenc, glad to have you as a friend to can practice later n_n
Hello, can you translate 'no worries' and 'I'm on it' in French? I actually post it as a question but no one answer. Hope you can help. Thank you.
"No worries" = "Sans soucis" As for "I'm on it", do you mean the Australian/NZ way of saying "drinking heavily"?
Thank you for that. Can you help me how to pronounce properly the 'Sans soucis'? And what I meant by 'I'm on it', it's more like 'I'm working/dealing with it already'. And thank you for the heads-up that it has different meaning in Aus/NZ. Thanks a million. :)
Not at all. ;) BTW, as for the pronunciation, just go to this google translate link [ http://translate.google.com/#auto|en|Sans%20soucis ] and click on the small speaker icon, in the left box. It's very accurate. ;) As for "I'm on it", I'm afraid I don't know a simple and short way to tell it. Here it is: "Je suis dejà en train de m'occuper de cette chose". I hope this helps. ;)
